Red Cherry Adventures will take you on a 3 Day Wild Coast Mountain Bike Cycle Tour.  The tour will be backed up by a 4x4 quad fitted with bicycle racks, to ensure that those who are fatigued or injured have a safe way to move through the area.  

ITINERARY – WILD COAST MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR

Red Cherry Adventures will take you on a 3 Day Wild Coast Mountain Bike Cycle Tour.  The tour will be backed up by a 4x4 quad fitted with bicycle racks for those who become fatigued. 

DAY 1
The group can either meet the Red Cherry Team in East London from where they will be transported to the starting point at Kei Mouth. Or be met and transported from Port Elizabeth.  (Fly-in groups will be met at either airport). 

You begin the ride by crossing the Great Kei River via the only motorised pontoon in South Africa.  After a brief orientation, your journey will take you off the beaten track. The professionally guided route will follow ancient sledge paths ground out by ox-drawn sledges. Scenic river crossings and negotiating daunting obstacles will ensure an awesome experience. En route we visit the Jacaranda Wreck, one of the many ships claimed on the Wild Coast. Relive the tragedy surrounding this spectacular sight. We then cross the Kobonqaba River Mouth. After many challenging river crossings and awe-inspiring scenery, we arrive at Mazeppa Bay Island, a fisherman's paradise. Here you can enjoy a walk across the suspension bridge. 
Then prepare ourselves for the exciting gorge crossing. We arrive at Kob Inn just before sunset and overnight.

DAY 2
After a restful evening and enjoying a hearty breakfast we’re off to experience another exciting day in the saddle. Heading north towards the Shixini and Ngabara Rivers, this adventure offers wonderful vantage points to take in the beautiful stretches of beaches, not to mention the undulating grass hills and steep cliffs which are the order of the day. After a day of sights and memory making in the rugged outdoors its back to Kob Inn for another mouth-watering meal and refreshing night’s sleep.


DAY 3
The last day is done at a higher speed the route takes the riders from Kob Inn back to Kei Mouth, following more of an inland track.

The group would then be taken from Kei Mouth either to the airport in East London/Port Elizabeth or dropped off at a pre-organised destination in the immediate vicinity.

The price is R2500 excl Vat, per person.  We take a minimum party of 8 people and the maximum we will take is 15 riders.
