Dear Friends

Having now arrived back from 'Enduro Africa Unplugged' I think it would be helpful to offer a brief overview of my experiences whilst they are still fresh in my mind.

Put simply, this was one of the most intense and astounding weeks of my life. The ride exceeded all the claims in the pre-trip marketing, Africa was beautiful and the leadership of Mike Glover was utterly exceptional.

In many ways the demands of the ride exceeded my capabilities, despite having previously completed India and the Himalayas. The fact that I ended the trip more or less in one piece was solely down to three factors - the expertise of Mike Glover, the patience of Hedley who supported Mike as 'sweep', and the teamwork / mutual support of the six riders which was the best I have ever known.

I have never before been so far out of my comfort zone for so long, but I also rode tracks and obstacles that I would never have tackled without Mike so there was a real sense of personal achievement.

I would recommend this experience, without reservation, to any rider with considerable prior proven ability off-road (in excess of mine), who is physically fit and who, ideally, is taller than my 5'6'' given the bike seat height!

As always, you have achieved the impossible. You have enabled me to participate in a genuinely challenging, life-changing experience that has firmly put my all-too-comfortable world back in to stark perspective.

Just came back from a tagalong with six great guys in transkei : Mike,David,Charles,Eddie,Neil,Richard and it was fantastic. Just a big thank you to Mike for all his effort & help and not to mention Dr David Hartley, many tanks!!!. This was by far the best thing I have ever done both physically and mentally and I will be back for more.
